A Brief Summary of Shalom Christian Centre:

In 1992, Pastor Felix and his wife Rose began their work with AIDS orphans. They took them into their homes, feeding, clothing and educationg them with their own children.

Within a few weeks they had eight AIDS orphans living with them. There were too many orphans on Mfangano Island to fit in his home, so Pastor Felix began constructing a building where the children could live and be fed, clothed and educated.

Presently they have 20 children living in the orphanage. In addition they have 35 of them living elsewhere, and they also come to the orphanage each day for food care and schooling. The total number of AIDS orphans cared for by Pastors Felix and Rose Orebo are fifty-five. Above you can see the building they started, and some of the orphans standing in front. Though the building is not complete yet, it is still being utilized to assist the orphans.
